> I camped and recorded last thursday and Friday in Pinnacles Natl. Monumen=
t in California.
A great spot. I call it "the miniature national park" because it has all th=
e features within about a square mile.
> Here are 2 recordings made with mics in the same location at 8:30 PM and =
6:30 AM the next morning in the Pinnacles campground beneath large Valley O=
aks with a bog nearby.

Very nice!
> Unfortunately during the morning recording I lost the Right channel and o=
nly determined later that a rabbit had chewed most of the way through my mi=
c cable. Mogami must be tasty. Has anyone out there experienced this probl=
em? I hope it won't be a common occurrence.
Some sharp-toothed creature bit a chunk out of my 4-channel Mogami snake ca=
ble, cutting into the metal of one wire, but it's still working, taped up.
> While hiking with my parabolic mic I chanced upon a Steller's Jay that wa=
s making vocalizations I've not heard before. It was foraging on a large sy=
camore down in narrow little Bear Creek gulch and sounding a bit thrasher-l=
ike. It went on and on and I recorded several 30+ second cuts . Here is a =
short take before logistics put too much stream and wind noise into the rec=
ordings. http://soundcloud.com/johnny-b-11/stellers-jay-pinnacles-4-20-12
Interesting chatter.
> Hope all works well as I'm still learning about sharing recordings.
Working great, thanks for sharing.
