Looking at Rob Danielson's mic noise/sensitivity chart

The MX391 (Shure WL183) at 22dB(A) is noisier than the NT4, 16dB(A).  Maybe the 
difference is masked when mounting of the MX391 on the small boundary plates.

To my aged ears I find little difference, maybe the MX391 even sounds a little 
less hissier than the NT4.

Most of my  recording is in areas that have a fairly high background noise so 
mic self noise is probably less important to me than those who can enjoy 
quieter soundscapes.

The following clip is a comparison of the AT3032, 8 dB(A), with the MX391.  
Both sets of mics are in identical head spaced boundary rigs.

Again, to my ears not a lot of difference.
