Rig 1 doesn't go beyond the limits of the speakers. Rig 2 does the same. When they hit the speaker positions I hear only amplitude changes, not posi= tion. Both sound like pan-pot stereo. There's no sense of space anywhere = but between the speakers. If you asked me which I prefer, I'd say Rig 1, but not strongly. (I'm a big binaural and Blumlein fan. Not to mention Ambisonics.)
