I just measured the preamp noise floor of the new Olympus LS-7. Its noise f= loor of -118 dBu(A) at the maximum gain setting is slightly higher than tha= t of its larger bothers LS-5 and LS-11 [-122 dBu(A)], which is however stil= l quite good for such a tiny recorder. Actually, it is the best one in this= class of small-sized recorders. http://www.avisoft.com/recordertests.htm Unlike the other Olympus LS series recorders, the LS-7 now also provides a = pre-recording option.
