I agree with Raimund and Klas. The omni mics in the M-10 are quieter and he=
nce better for recordings of ambience. But the cardioid mics of the LS-10/L=
S-11 are very decent and image much nicer for recordings of band rehearsals=
, gigs, interviews, etc.

Really, I think Olympus made the better choice here for the general user, s=
ince anyone really picky about noise floor will almost undoubtedly be using=
 external mics. Olympus also has a nicer interface and top build quality, p=
lus I agree with the preference for SD cards. However I have kept my M-10 a=
s well, since I am not a typical user. :-) I like some of the bells and whi=
stles like the pre-record function, but then again Olympus has the useful m=
ono record option.

Both are excellent units, much nicer than other hand-held recorders.
