Hi lily, Klas here,
I would say that, recording music (indoors, I presume?) she will have
much better use of the two directional mic's of the LS-11, than of
the two omnis in Sony. The omnis will pick up too much of the room acoustic=
s.
When singing or playing an instrument into the recorder, the self
noise level is not important.
Besides that I can tell that both of my Olympus are running fine even
though I use them every day.
