While not a comparison between AT4022 and MKH20, Andrew Skeoch and I did a rig
comparison between my AT3032/SBRS (SASS clone) rig and Andrew's MKH20/Knapp
modified SASS both running into Sound Devices 722 recorders. The rigs
contribute to the difference in performance but it's a fairly close comparison
of the AT3032 and MKH20. This may help you judge what your missing by not
upgrading to MKH20's.
I shared these recordings Rob's DIY rig group about 8 months ago. The tracks
are only accessible via these private links, and the uncompressed originals can
be downloaded from soundcloud.
