> I really enjoyed your recording of Bird-voiced Treefrogs. I have listened= to Walter Knapp and Lang Elliot's frog recordings but never really noted t= he similarity of the sounds to bird song. They start off a bit like Spring = Peepers , which I am familiar with, but then go up tempo. Its also interest= ing that two different sound producing mechanisms produce similar vocal re= sults. > John Neville > Salt Spring Island BC > Hi John The bird-voiced are my absolute favorite frogs. This population does sound = alot like the peepers. When you hear them from some distance, they are much= more bird-like and haunting. This recording just so happened to get them q= uite close. I have another recording from a population about 100 miles to t= he East that are much more birdy... will post soon. David |
