My mics are not as sensitive as yours.=C2=A0 But still benefit from shock m=
ounts.=C2=A0 This guy seems to have an idea, similar to what your needs mig=
ht be.

I went kind of this route, but my mics are smaller.

And still a WIP.=C2=A0 Probably running down to the hardware store later to=
get a step up drill bit for metal.=C2=A0 As the above is very front heavy =
if used like this for a horizontal mic.=C2=A0 Two L joints slightly bent an=
d sub in as the inner clip is the current plan.=C2=A0 With screw plus washe=
r plus bolt to the PVC.=C2=A0 I need to make the hole bigger to fit the scr=
ew for the mic clip in this case.

Basically 4" coupling for PVC pipes.=C2=A0 I was gonna go with 3", but thos=
e were like $5, where the 4" was $1.27 or something.=C2=A0 A couple things =
of hair braids from WalMart.=C2=A0 And a lot of dremmel-ing.=C2=A0 A wood c=
hissel to clean up the dirty edges.=C2=A0 And a can of compressed air to cl=
ean it up after all that grinding and assemble.=C2=A0
To mark it up with a sharpie, take the diameter (4.25" when measured) times=
PI and divide by the number of segments you want.=C2=A0 Mark it on the edg=
e of a piece of paper.=C2=A0 Use the paper as a guide on the PVC.=C2=A0 Fol=
d another piece of paper in half twice and line up the flat edge the second=
time and you have a flexible right angle to draw a straight line across th=
e PVC.=C2=A0 Fold the segment marks in half on the other sheet of paper and=
then quarters and you have a further guide to sharpie up your PVC to where=
you want to cut it.=C2=A0
Amazingly simple, but a bit time consuming if you get fancy.=C2=A0 In your =
case since it's soo long, you might have to go a blimp / zeppelin route jus=
t to have the girth to shockmount it near the ends.=C2=A0 A 6" hose clamp m=
akes a good guide line on the circular part of the 4" PVC.=C2=A0 I wanted t=
o go 3" as the hair braids are stretched pretty good at 4".=C2=A0 Not quite=
guitar string, but they will hum a bit when plucked.=C2=A0 You want to avo=
id having them that tight IMO.=C2=A0 But you need some tension in there to =
support the weight of the mic.
