Hi Randy, thanks for your reply. This really opens up a whole new 'world' o=
f
recording to me. Especially if you can keep the=C2=A0Fostex/Mics going for =
12 hours
with a 16G card inside. I carried out a couple of tests on the 'hum' first =
in
the studio with the Fostex plugged into the Xantrex portable power with its=

regular power chord. I could hear the hum through headphones. Next I took i=
t
outside and placed the mics inside our barn with the door closed and was ab=
out
30-40m away from the power source using a heavy duty extension chord. No
hum...the unit weighs about 12lbs,=C2=A0certainly packable for a day trip a=
t least.
Anyone any idea what the hum=C2=A0could be? Worth looking into a bit more, =
just to
make sure.
