Two points. If your Fostex has M/S decoding built in, use it and save on the weight of = the mixer if you are only recording two channels. Secondly, what are you using as far as computer editing? Are you on a PC or= Mac? Either way, recording as Mid & Side without doing any decoding in the recor= der and loading them into your computer DAW software as a Mid channel & a S= ide channel allows for far greater control over the final stereo mix. Havin= g said that, in order to do so you need to be able to monitor the M/S as L/= R in your headphones and I'm not sure if the Fostex (or SQN mixer) will do = that. |
