I'm designing a field calibrator for mics in windscreens. It will put a ton=
e on your recording by which you can balance channels either on the recorde=
r or in post production. It will provide a known SPL at the mic capsule so =
the original SPLs of the recorded sound can be measured later.
It will have a slider that is adjusted to compensate for the distance from =
the front of the windscreen assembly to the actual mic diaphragm, on-axis. =
It would be helpful for me if you would measure that distance in your rig s=
o I can be sure to accommodate the range of distances found in the real wor=
ld.
MS users also please tell me the width of your windscreen. I'll assume the =
S diaphragm is in the middle.
