Thanks Rob for your comments. My current recorder is an SD 702 and I use 48= V phantom power to a Senheiser K6 and Cardioid mic in a parabola on a tripod. I use a splitter on the mic cable to feed both channels and set the gain on one channel at a lesser level in case of unexpected loud sounds. I also use the ME66 with a padded hand held fitting..
