I've used the same system for 30 years, Bruce. I find that I like the longer hair on the outside because it repels the rain a lot more, moving it away from the casing. The inside is the empty rycote windjammer. I have found that I can record up to winds of 50 mph (hurricane in 1978) with the right location and get some good results.
