Hello,
My first setup was one notebook with one echo audiofire 2 in one pcmcia =
firewire card.
My opinion is that the notebook needs 3ah in 19v 60w ~ and one microphon=
e preamplier and one hand held recorder with usb battery power needs 0,5ah =
in 3v ~ please chek this aproximate numbers.
But you can run one 20ah battery with the notebook five to seven hrs and=
with the battery usb powered hand held recorder you can run fifty hours. I=
don=B4t know your microphones but the hand held records have pip some phan=
tom power and can be powered 5v usb (m audio micro track II, 3v edirol r09,=
9v felmicamps mic preamp for example the same battery makes ten times more=
 time in one of these.
I don't know about usb cards The eco audiofire 2 is ruged and very small=
and the sound is good at home with 24 bit 96khz recording option. It as an=
alog stereo balanced line inputs (jack TRS 6mm) spdif input and output. hea=
dphone jack 3,5mm with volume control.
You can ear one recording y made from one Oriolos oriolos in the site frees=
oundproject (search ORIOLO or username FREITOJOS). If you put the output fr=
om the microphone preamplifier in the input of the echo audiofire2 card you=
can record with Audacity or other audio editor in the notebook.
Good look in you choice,
