Dear Folks, Having previously owned a Zoom H2, I am getting ready to purchase a new por= table digital recorder (in a week or 2). My wildlife recording is focused p= rimarily on singing insects, followed by birds, etc. (As per my budget) The 3 recorders I've narrowed it down to are: A.) M-Audio MicroTrack II B.) Olympus LS-10 C.) Tascam DR-1 (You can currently find each of these on e-bay right now, for ~ $200) Just to make it easier - My question focuses on using the built-in mics onl= y. In the case of the M-Audio, the provided "T Mic assembly" Which of these is the best performing field recorder? As for external mics: I only have a very cheap Mono shotgun mic, and a few = home-brew mics, etc. that I currently experiment with... Thanks very much! Best regards, Al |
