Shirane,

I use a Koala fanny pack made by Kata.  It is small and light and offers gr=
eat weather protection.  I wear this backcountry skiing, snowshoeing and hi=
king with a backback.  Kata makes four sizes of this bag.  I am sure there =
is a size that suits your needs.  It is not the least expensive option but =
when you see the qualtiy and consturction of the bag you see why.
