But if both tools are not available, I would guess that you'd be better off with the lavaliere mic. The hydrophone (used as a geophone) will certainly give you more of a muted sound. Both will obviously be audio recordings, but the geophone recording will have more of a tactile feel, where as the lav mic will be much more acoustically truthful. Like Steve said, your cables might not be safe if left unattended for any length of time. Do what you can to protect them. Regards, Robb |
