Great news, Klas! We really need more good mic solutions that will run on plug in power. It's a liberating experience to carry a high quality recording rig in your jacket pocket. In my experience, the 1/8" mini jack mic input on the Zoom H4n has less self noise than the XLR inputs, particularly when they are providing phantom power. Speaking of phantom power, what sort of battery life have you experienced w= ith the H4n? I got only 90-100 minutes from 2 AA cells in my tests. Others report 4 hours or so. I can't explain the difference. Is the Telinga EM-23 still available? Price $600 a pair? --oryoki |
