Nice one oryoki. I can only agree with everything you wrote, especially:

Yeah, that's really annoying.

My main beef, however, is that there is not a switch for phantom power. Using 
the menu for this (even the quick menu) gets old fast. I am not in the habit of 
plugging in (or out) mics without turning off phantom.

Also, the front panel control layout, with buttons all of the same size and 
confusingly marked, is just lame.

I would also note that the cheap plastic construction means I would never take 
this unit to the rainforest or Antarctica. OTOH it is much lighter than a Sound 
Devices.

And much cheaper, of course.
