The 'sound recordist' is also the producer, in these days of saving money you
have to turn your hand at anything.
Or rather it's the Producer who also records the sound. It hardly ever happens
the other way round!
I was on the receiving end of some recordings made by a producer which he had
recorded from around the UK's coast line. Would have been nice if he had used a
wind shield of some sort!
Even he was unhappy with the results once he heard them! It never occured to
him that's what the headphones in the kit were for!
