Slow to surface possibly because few, if any, very low input noise 
recorders have both Phantom Power and a 3.5mm (1/8") mic input.

Might require something like the below gear in a quiet setting:

(a) ME66->K6 (Bat) -> Sony M10 or D50 1/8" Mic Input; 3/4 or higher 
record gain.

<vs>

(b) ME66 -> Art PhantomII or Rolls PB224 Phantom Power Supply -> Sony 
M10 or D50 1/8" Mic Input; 3/4 or higher record gain.
