John, as far as I can say (I've made only a few recordings so far), the ste=
reo image is satisfying for my personal taste. At least in theory, the clos=
ely spaced omni mics are probably not perfect. Though, it seems that the bo=
dy of the recorder creates some kind of a barrier that improves the stereo =
separation. I could imagine that one might try to enlarge the barrier by fi=
tting the recorder into a disk that has a rectangular hole in the middle.
