Right. In particular, the Sony phantom power box is the same price
(and roughly the same weight) as a MixPre, but without the preamp
part! And if you don't want to use a Mixpre for some reason, a Rolls
224 plus a 2XLR-mini cable will provide the same functionality for
-7db the price of the Sony unit.
