I carry around one of the old triangle seat stools:

A bit lighter even than the Byer ones. I don't have a problem with the seat
shape, in fact I find it more comfortable than the Byer, but either is
good...light weight is the key. You don't want to carry around something
heavy, but a place to sit is a very welcome thing after several hours trudging
around.
