the sound devices 744T has 4 inputs but only 2 pre-amps.. so you also
need 2 external ones to capture sound from 4 mics=0D
I doubt whether the zoom h4 is able to record simultaneously from =0D
both the XLR inputs and the 3.5" one..=0D
It' s a stereo recorder, i think=0D
the R-4' s pre-amps are not as good as the R-4pro or the R-44 ones=0D
and same early models had a phase problem with the 4th channel=0D
