Hi Grant!
Marantz now includes an 'Addendum' to the User-manual, which describes what=
"SP Mute" is (included since F/W A2.27, & the same as PMD660, etc).
I guess I'm just asking-- if you can't quickly tell why to upgrade, then wh=
y? I've been bitten by too many hastily-released s/w upgrades, but this is =
firmware, so maybe they're more careful(?)

Nice work on your site...

Actually, I got the BasicMOD *blush*... b/c I still want to record live mus=
ic, & so want the ALC & inboard mics. According to Doug, the Basic leverage=
s the same op-amp upgrade as the Super, but can't use the high-end capacito=
r w/o removing the mics & ALC. Anyways, it sounds absolutely terrific, if a=
bit less sensitive for nature recording...

Hahaha-- that must look funny, running a SQN4S into that teensy PMD620...

tnx, dave

all done with the supermod pmd620 with a SQN4S mixer & Neumann rsm191i mic =
vs the te henga (bethells) stream & bush, recorded straight into a SD744t w=
ith the Neumann.
