Here's an update about cables to attach a battery box or external preamp to a recorder that uses a 1/8-inch (3.5 mm) miniplug for input. These are sometimes referred to as adapter cables or "Y" cables. Hosa makes a Y cable that has two XLR female connectors at one end and a male right angle 3.5mm (1/8-inch) miniplug on the other. There are three models, with different cable lengths CYX-401F one foot cable length CYX-402F two feet CYX-405F five feet These cables cost $14 to $20 each depending on the source.
