Roy... Thanks. I get lucky on occasion in regards to timing, location selection and placement of the mics. However hearing Andrew talking about composing his recordings brought home the realisation there is a whole realm of recording technique beyond the level at which I operate! I think this is something that (hopefully) comes with experience and seems to require that you approach the process of making a recording with mindfulness and awareness of your surroundings that is very difficult to achieve when you are a beginner focusing on the basic mechanics of the recording process (which is where I'm at in the grand scheme of things).
