I've been following this thread with much interest, especially since I am new to field recording, and I've found a source for 25 & 50 foot 5-pin XLR microphone extension cable (in case you don't want to build your own): "Remote Audio Star-Quad 5-Pin XLR Male to 5-Pin XLR Female Stereo Mic Extension Cable" model #CAX5QN25 (25') & #CAX5QN50 (50'). They also make a 5-Pin Stereo XLR Female to Dual 3-pin XLR Male Y-Cable that is 18 inches long: model #CAXSTE, but for some reason they don't make the 5-Pin Stereo XLR Male to Dual 3-pin XLR Female Y-Cable as a stock cable... They did say they could make this cable, but it would be a custom order through their dealership channels. Their website: www.remoteaudio.com I found both of these at B&H: Extension cable: tinyurl.com/5rrokq Y-cable: tinyurl.com/6a4tgx |
