Umm, no again. The mid channel has all the lelemnts that the pattern of the mid mic picks up! If it it hypercardioid it will sound different from wide cardioid or omni; if it is shotgun it will have considerably different contents from the figure 8 side mic. All this debate is about common information that is available many places - spreading mis- or dis- information this way astounds me! It is like saying the moon is farther away than the sun, or the earth is flat. Much of it is simply wrong.
