The 184's are a bit noisier than the 183's. You might want to take a
look at Curt's pages:
http://www.trackseventeen.com/soundscapes/mic_rigs.html Many of his
rigs use 183 capsules that can be made with lighter materials and
made more compact. Curt uses cardioid mics in his arrays too. Rob D.
