Hi again Tim!
Yes it is; approximately eight seconds total. This would (possibly
incorrectly) suggest to me that it IS reading the full eight gig card
and tends to point to firmware. But I don't want to pretend to know
something I don't. I'm hoping that one of the other members with more
technical knowledge will step in here. Have you by any chance tried
re-installing the firmware? I realise that if it's indicating 1.04 that
it should be OK, but my long experience with computers has taught me
never to assume anything!
Of course if I can be of any other assistance, please don't hesitate.

p.s. I've just remembered your additional question about the timing. I
did test mine when the question arose, and intended to do so again after
firmware update, but I'm afraid I haven't done so yet. If I get some
time in the near future I'll do this again, but unfortunately my next
week is fairly involved.
