I had a Portadisc for a few years, a good machine. However, the one drawback
was that the USB connection does not provide a "disk" interface only a
"sound card" interface. You have to transfer recordings in real time using
recording software on the PC. This would usually be done via the audio
(analogue or digital) outputs to a suitable interface on your PC. I sold
mine a few years ago, so don't remember whether I was able to transfer via
the USB into recording software - it should be possible as it should behave
like a regular USB soundcard.

Subject: [Nature Recordists] Portadisc to PC transfer
I use a PC with Vista. Using a USB hub, my computer recognises that
there is a device attached. However, no window appears to help me
transfer my recordings to the PC. And without this, I don't know what
to do!
Can anybody help?
