The connection is a tad atypical because the Art & Rolls phantom
units output xlr/balanced signals. Almost all consumer recorders have

Subject: 5mm stereo mic inputs for accepting unbalanced inputs. All the
adapter cable needs to do to correct this is to "tie" one leg of the
two, balanced conductors, typically pin #3 to pin #1 to make the
circuit unbalanced. That is precisely what happens inside the adapter
