I think the largest on Rycote makes is their MS Stereo zeppelin, like
the ones used with an MKH MS setup. It's big in there, not big enough
for a 'proper' Jecklin disc, but you could probably rig up a 5" disc
or so between them in there. It's an interesting idea. Judging from
the Telinga Stereo mic, you don't need a 'large' separator for it to
work. You'd have to build something, but wouldn't be too hard if you
got four clips that would hold the 8020, and glued them to a disc
disc, and then connect the mic clips to the Rycote just as you would a
normal stereo rig. You'd have to find custom size bands then that
would hold the whole thing stable enough. Interesting idea though...
I wonder if the disc could be big enough to give optimum stereo, but
certainly worth a shot. For the cost of four Rycote clips you could
try it, if you already have the large Rycote Stereo mount.
I just ordered a pair of the MKH8020s, so I haven't seen them in
person, but my understanding is that they are super small, right?
