I had a query from one member regarding hum in the Magpie recording

I tried to EQ/Filter some of the background noise out. We live in a
'rural living' area and the background contained a ride on mower (I
think in the USA you call them lawn tractors) and a road about 1 km
away. I think the hum is a residue of that noise that I tried to remove.

I'm new to the whole recording thing and still need to get a feel for
'editing' the recordings to get rid of overpowering distractions. I
also guess there is a lot of opinion about whether that should be done
at all or not. But for this immediate area of the hills, the noise is
really annoying. Although it's not even there when just using ears.

Also, I'm glad you found the Google Earth pointers useful.
