For the past four years I've been using a Targus CV1001 sports
backpack, initially designed for carrying a laptop computer and
accessories and measuring 45cm x 35cm x 30cm. I have used it for
numerous forays into the wild carrying a Nagra V, a Rycote, a pair of
headphones, mic leads, tripod, light stand, etc. (The tripod/stands fit
on the sides - insert one end in the mesh intended for holding a water
bottle, and clip it in place at the top with the side strap.) That bag
has carried my rig into all sorts of places, from Everest base camp
(Tibet side) to the jungles of Borneo.
Back in swivelisation, I use it every day as a general daypack for
carrying my laptop and so on. Recently it has started to tear on the
top, due to putting way too much stuff in it a few months ago. I reckon
that's fair enough after four years of daily use. My replacement bag
will possibly be one of these:
