I do a lot of GeoCaching (See www.geocaching.com) and originally had a Magellan GPS. When that failed, I ended up getting an HP PDA on eBay and a bluetooth GPS unit to talk to the PDA. It allowed all the GPS stuff the Magellan did, plus a lot more. In addition it was a PDA and stored all my ebooks etc and a voice recorder for note taking. Very handy. You could go the same route with a camera based PDA Ricoh make a camera that has a GPS called the Ricoh Pro G3. It embeds the GPS coordinate onto the photo similar to a time/date stamp. You can also turn that function off if you don't want it to show on the photo. |
