Rob, I agree what you stated below, I'm as happy to help the newcomer
to recording as anyone else. No offense was intended by my statement,
I was only trying to make a distinction about where the gear talk line
shall be drawn. Though I did not mean to suggest it be drawn at all.
We all get tired of the same newcomer questions every week but I feel
we all take turns answering the questions week after week, and Rob you
answer more than your share (thank you)!
I've been on this list since 2002 and the "too much tech talk" comes
up frequently. I think those who feel they don't like the content of
some posts must learn to filter, as Greg Simmons and others have
indicated.
My larger point being that it's difficult to separate fieldcraft from
the technology operating next to it. If we want to eliminate
technology from the discussion we might as well have a bird listening
group. I will be interested on how the threads develop in the sister
group.
I'm going to keep on keeping on in this sandbox for the time being, as
I said before, I barely have time for the two nature recording groups
that I read now.
