The Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is divided into two parts -
the western half is the "Management Area" wherein off-road travel is 
prohibited without a permit, while the eastern half is 
the "Wilderness Area" wherein foot travel is permitted.  The 
abandoned section of White Bridge Road gives excellent foot access in 
that eastern part.  I heard CRICKET FROGS in the Wilderness Area just 
a week ago when I was looking for Great Egrets. This Cricket Frog 
colony is beneath an active Great Blue Heron rookery.
