Hi Jez,

I keep a small piece of dowel in the case with my 722. It is about 8cm long
and slighter thinner than a pencil. I use this to depress the button that
holds the battery in place.

BTW I use Hahnel batteries (HL-XL782), which is rated at 4000mAh. I have
been using them for over a year now with no problems at all.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Nature Recordists] Li-ion battery removal from SD

I'm sure i've read on here somewhere recently about how to put in &
remove the Li-ion batteries from SD recorders - i'm just getting to
grips with a new SD702 & the battery was tough to get in & now it's
in I can't seem to get it out !!!! so if anyone can point me in the
direction of any posts that contain this info or make comments that
would be great.

Also, when I purchased my SD I also bought a spare Hawk-Woods li-ion
battery & whilst it is supposed to be exactly the same as the ones
the SD uses the holes appear slightly smaller - tried fitting it to
the SD but couldn't get it into the metal pins apart from the first
few mm's - which appeared to have squashed the SD's pins slighly.
Any ideas ?

perhaps anyone with tips could email me direct if these kind of
questions have already been covered on the forum:

ta,
Jez
