Re: free audio editors - problems with wavosaur

Steve is right! Our feedback to the developers is paramount to their
continued pursuit of a great product.
I uninstall ed the Audacity Beta 1.3 (Windows Xp) and installed the
current stable version. I had the same
result with the slow load up of the file etc.

One caveat in my case is that I am just recovering from the complete
failure of a Windows 2000 box that
had been the most stable PC for nearly eight years. I support XP-Pro in
my regular job and thought that might
be the way to go. I'm working on a totally new hardware platform with a
OS I've not tried outside of the basic
office environment.

I've had a good "out of the box" expierence with Fedora 8.0 on a P-3
laptop.
Ubuntu Studio that Aaron suggested might be a option. I feel that I may
have two weeks at most to get a
stable system going before I must start producing the spectrograms for
this study.

Much thanks to this group for the insite offered.
