Reading the specifications more closely, I see that the LB has several features added that will be useful for ENG use. The recorder has a full featured editor built in, with a jog/shuttle wheel to assist. A large speaker built into the top of the recorder helps critical listening of a track for editing purposes. Once a track is edited, the recorder can transmit the file to the station using a built-in ethernet port, or by bluetooth to a cell phone. These features are unusual in a field recorder. The LB has both USB device and USB host ports, and AES digital input and output. These extra features combine with Nagra's robust construction to make a machine that is larger and a bit heavier than many other 2 channel recorders. Nagra LB 65 x 175 x 185mm, 1400 g In comparison, the Nagra ARES-BB+ is smaller and quite a bit lighter Nagra ARES-BB+ 56 x 168 x 160 mm, 1063 g --oryoki |
