Hi all,
there is an increasing interest for unattended extended duration
recordings and/or scheduled recordings.

I'm looking around for a good quality recorder (again, I mostly mean
low noise recorder) that could be easily switched on and then started
and stopped recording by using an external simple device such as a
timer or a remote control.
I'm working on a low-power pc with solid state boot disk and CF
recording, but the problem is power consumption that may range from
600mA/h to 1A/h depending on the activities.

Any hint ?
The SD 7xx recorders have a remote control option but I don't find
useful enough information.
Gianni
