Welcome, Cynthia! Bernie Krause's book is filled with very useful examples, and is an inspiration for us all. The book is several years old now, so the equipment described is a bit out of date. That said, the Hi-MD recorder is a good choice that will provide satisfactory results. Are you planning to enjoy the recordings you make through headphones, or is your goal to play back through loudspeakers? This might help people recommend a microphone setup that will work best for recording ambience. --oryoki |
