Small addendum: I believe I read that DR-1's 1/4" mic input is
monaural and without phantom power. An ideal input for a dynamic mic
like the hand-held models often used by journalists. The MT's 1/4"
inputs are TRS balanced with a phantom power option.  Rob D.
