The shut-off is a disappointment, but most everything else _appears_ pretty workable, especially at ~$250USD. Hopes might be higher than usual for low-noise mic pre performance based on Tascam's HD-P2, but we really can't tell until we connect a portable phantom power unit and some very low-noise mics. >Sony PCM-D50 and Zoom H4, but larger than the Edirol >R-09, M-Audio Microtrack II, Marantz PMD620 and Zoom H2.
