>Optimality might also call for having only one species per CD track. I second that motion. I've purchased most of the ID discs for my area. Loaded into iTunes, it's a very convenient way to audition suspects for something I've recorded. Some discs have multiple species per track, though, which is less convenient--makes it necessary to drag the slider along listening for the voice announcement of the next species. One series jams half a dozen per track, using the Red Book "index" marking, that unfortunately was abandoned by players early in the age of CD and now is not supported by either players or computer disc readers. -Dan Dugan |
