I spoke with my rep the other day and he's only now getting his demo
models and will have them out to me in a couple of weeks...I will try
to do some comparative recording with the regular MKH series.
I have not heard anything about introductory pricing.
MSRP (list) pricing as of January is $1,950 for any one of the
head+body combinations, the capsule (head) only is $1,600, while the
body only (MZX8000) seems to be about $450. Most resellers should
have it for less, if they are able to get them.
I am looking forward to seeing how well they work in my favorite
pattern ORTF, something that would be difficult to do in a zepplin
with the MKH40.
By the way I don't work for Sennheiser, just passing along the info.
